What is the focus of your work in the MINOUW project?

Marine ecosystem modelling using dynamic size spectra, Work package 2.

Who are you?

Emeritus Professor at the University of York, working in the York Centre for Complex Systems Analysis (YCCSA), with links to the Departments of Biology and Mathematics.

I am an ecologist, carrying out research at the interface with mathematics and evolution, and have a special involvement with the use of dynamic size spectra for understanding marine ecosystem

Why do you think the MINOUW project is important?

“Society needs better understanding of how changes in exploitation of marine ecosystems affect their sustainability, resilience and conservation. Working with the fisheries scientists in MINOUW, I am able to bring my skills to bear on these issues.”
