What is the focus of your work in the MINOUW project?
Work package 3 and Case Study 3.1 regarding Iberian Hake Stock.
Who are you?
Full Professor in Economics at the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU) since 2010. Ph.D. in Economics at the State University of New York at Stony Brook (1992).
I work on environmental and natural resource economics. My last works are focused mainly on fisheries economics.
Why do you think the MINOUW project is important?
“MINOUW is a great challenge from the economic point of view. It will allow to verify if the European discard policy is a right incentive to promote the use of more selective gears that help to protect fisheries resources.”
